Job Description:

We are hiring a Highway Engineer to manage highway and roadway projects! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with specific experience with highway, transit, rail, site, and design-build project delivery for highways, local roads, public utilities and public works, civil site design, or related infrastructure.

 

Highway Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee the construction of highway systems, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage a project team, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Conduct site inspections and project meetings to ensure adherence to safety standards and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to integrate various project elements effectively.
  • Prepare and present detailed project reports and designs to stakeholders and clients.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and plans, adjusting as needed based on project evolution and stakeholder feedback.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and government bodies.
  • Utilize advanced project management tools to track project performance and milestones.

 

Highway Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in highway engineering, with at least 3 years in a project management role.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering software such as Bentley, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations related to highway and infrastructure projects.
